Mr. Afetsi Awoonor is BOST MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr Afetsi Awoonor has been appointed Managing Director of BOST, succeeding Dr Edwin Provencal after five years of service. His appointment, effective January 20, 2025, was formalised at a handover ceremony in Accra, marking a return to the company where he once served as Manager of Government Relations.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Mr. Afetsi Awoonor as the new Managing Director of the Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST). He succeeds Dr. Edwin Provencal, who led the company for five years.
Mr. Awoonor officially assumed office on January 20, 2025, with the transition marked by a formal handover ceremony at BOST’s Head Office in Accra. During the event, Dr. Provencal symbolically transferred leadership responsibilities to his successor—an act officials commended as a model of sound corporate governance.
This appointment marks a return to familiar ground for Mr. Awoonor, who previously served as BOST’s Manager of Government Relations from September 2016 to April 2017.
At the ceremony, Mr. Awoonor expressed his appreciation to Dr. Provencal for his dedicated service and transformative leadership. He was later introduced to staff during a mini-durbar held in his honor.
