Salifu Nat Acheampong takes over as new Deputy Managing Director of BOSTenergies
On February 16, 2026, BOST Energies Limited welcomed Mr. Salifu Nat Acheampong as Deputy Managing Director, succeeding Ms. Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie, who was appointed Executive Secretary of the Ghana Energy Commission.
BOST has renewed its strategic partnership with Burkina Faso’s SONABHY to strengthen cross-border petroleum trade and foster regional energy security. The move follows restored diplomatic ties and aims to optimise product flow between the two countries, leveraging key infrastructure like the Bolgatanga Depot and Blue Ocean Terminal. A joint technical team will explore efficiency opportunities, while expanded electricity exports are also under consideration to address Burkina Faso’s energy needs.
Ghana’s Chief Imam, Alhaji Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Shaributu, visited BOST to congratulate Mr Afetsi Awoonor on becoming its youngest-ever Managing Director. Their long-standing family ties and shared commitment to public service marked the occasion, as the Chief Imam offered prayers and support for Mr Awoonor’s new leadership chapter.
Mr Afetsi Awoonor has been appointed Managing Director of BOST, succeeding Dr Edwin Provencal after five years of service. His appointment, effective January 20, 2025, was formalised at a handover ceremony in Accra, marking a return to the company where he once served as Manager of Government Relations.
