Biography
Prof. Saint Kuttu
Professor Saint Kuttu is an associate professor of finance and risk management at the University of Ghana. He has consulted extensively for the World Bank on energy risk management, project risk management, and credit risk management through the Ministry of Finance. He has also provided consultancy services to Ghana National Gas Company Limited and the National Petroleum Authority. Professor Kuttu was part of a team that developed the risk-based supervision framework for the University of Ghana. Together with consultants from the United Kingdom, Hungary and Namibia, Professor Kuttu developed a risk-based supervision framework for the National Pensions Regulatory Authority. This project was funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Switzerland. Professor Kuttu has taught at Hanken School of Economics, Finland, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. He currently teaches at the University of Ghana. He teaches energy trading and risk management, advanced market risk management, financial derivatives, and project finance at the University of Ghana. Professor Kuttu has published extensively on financial risk, project risk, and insurance risk, and inclusive growth in high-impact academic journals. He has served as a reviewer for Energy Policy, The American Economist, International Journal of Finance & Economics, Research in International Business and Finance, Emerging Markets Review, Applied Financial Economics, and African Journal of Management Research.
Professor Kuttu holds a Bachelor of Science (Admin) Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana, a Master of Science (Econ) Computational Finance, and a Doctor of Science (Econ) Finance from Hanken School of Economics, Finland. He has served as chair, presenter and discussant at several international Academic conferences over the years. He is a member of the University of Ghana Academic Board, and the Finance and Investment Committee of the University of Ghana Enterprise Limited.
